DGPL Friends of the Library logo

Established in 1953, Friends of the Library of Downers Grove support, advocate for, and love their library. This collective understands and appreciates the library’s value to our community. Historically, support through fundraising has provided programs and projects that enrich the library’s services—including the library’s first computers for patron use.

In 2024, the foundation joined forces with Friends to enhance advocacy efforts and strengthen support for the library. Read the press release here.

There are several ways to be a Friend, including supporting DGPL, subscribing to our email list, attending Board of Trustees or Village Council meetings, volunteering your time when the need presents itself, or just spreading the word to friends and family about the great services and value the library adds to our community. In fact, if you’re here, you’re already a good friend. Thanks for being ours. 🩷
