Thank you for your support during National Library Week this year!
A special shout out goes to our restaurant partners – who were not only willing and excited to be involved in showing support for our library, but who also made this year’s fundraiser accessible across a variety of price points in wide range of locations throughout town – meaning more community members had the opportunity to participate. Stay tuned for more as we gear up for 2024!

Other Ways to Support the Library You Love

Can’t make it to one of the opportunities above? The Downers Grove Public Library Foundation always accepts in-kind donations. Donate with a click below, or set up a recurring monthly donation. Every dollar you donate returns to the Downers Grove Public Library. Recently, donor dollars have helped fund:

  • A nature themed play wall in the children’s room.
  • The addition of Korean language books to add to the library’s World Book collection.
  • Financial support for the Library’s participation in Illinois Libraries Present which secures programming for participating libraries with high profile authors. Upcoming programs will feature Will Shortz (April 25), Jarrett J. Krosoczka (May 6), Kristi Yamaguchi (May 17), Robin Wall Kimmerer (June 2023) and Jesmyn Ward (June 6), to name a few.
  • A fair hourly wage ($15) for the Library’s social work intern program.
  • Garden Walk Brick purchases specifically help provide funds to expand the Library’s growing public art collection. Recently, funds generated from the sale of Garden Walk Bricks helped secure the purchase of the original artwork Ta Da by Daria Peoples, a piece that was transformed into an illustration featured in the children’s book Show the World by Angela Dalton.
